P35 Co-producing surgical patient information during COVID-19

Abstract Introduction Patients preparing for surgery are understandably fearful due to the threat of COVID-19. With rapid release surgical research, we wanted ensure patients can access right evidence make informed decisions. We describe an innovative, digital, patient and public involvement (PPI) strategy designed engage with COVID-19 research as it is released, by producing accessible resources. Methods established a Patient Advisory Group (PAG) co-produce information about having during pandemic, risks perioperative SARS-CoV-2, using from CovidSurg international cohort studies. Results The PAG were keen understand high mortality serious breathing complications associated SARS-CoV-2. They detailed what do stay safe measures hospitals taking keep them safe.
